The double file restars are always goin to be better for the fans. I have been on both ends of losing spots and gaining spots on restarts and it sucks but its racin. Yes you do tend to tear up more equipment but Mt pleasant went to this format and its alot tighter race track and they managed to not to tear up other than some fenders and quarter panels. Single file i think at this time would make the racing worse due especially if you mess up in the first few laps and have a restart would rather start 20 double file then say 15th. Double file gives the guy in the back a chance. Thats my 2 cents

I look out at the grandstands every week and I see less people there than I did a couple of years ago.  these folks are holding onto their money, and honestly i can't blame them.  we are entertainers as well as competitors.  whatever the rules are they are going to be bad for some and good for others.  that being said, we have to give the fans in the grandstands a reason to spend that hard earned money of theirs at oakshade, otherwise we don't have a track to compete at.  I'm not going to pretend to know the entire economic picture of running a racetrack but I will say this. we all want bigger payouts, more big money shows, and port a johns near a light-pole.  but those things cost money.  which brings me back to the fans, the customers.  what can we do to put more behinds in the seats?  if the fans see the same thing every week, then why would they pay to see the same old song and dance?  give them some excitement.  make the show something to talk about.  going double file for restarts might help this.  a good friend of mine once told me "if you keep doing what you've always done you are going to keep getting what you've always got."  We are always going to be fixing sheet metal, that's the nature of the game.  but let's give them a race to watch.  double file all the way.

Atticarayburn83 , you got a great Idea about turn 3, but allow them to go Double file, they can't pass till they hit the cone, race through turn 4 pass the flag stand and by the time thy enter turn one it should all be straightened out.

I agree. Or all they have to is give us a couple more laps under caution then start the race. The first couple of laps is like ice sometimes.

For what it's worth........here's my two cents worth.

The biggest reason that we have pile ups in the bomber division at the start of a race is just not thinking. Terry waters the track between races and for the first couple of laps it is a little greasy. If everyone would keep that in mind and not drive into turn 1 on the first couple of laps like they do on lap 5 we would have much better luck with starting a race. Double file restarts should not be a wreck fest (unless someone just can't resist the urge to drive into someone) because the track won't be freshly watered at that point.

We have 20 or so cars in a Bomber feature and there is a big difference between being 20th in single file or 10th on the outside. I think this would work much better if the flagman started us for all starts at the flagstand and if when he waves the green flag it was green everywhere.

works good on a single line track, not sure how it would go at oakshade since both inside and outside are pretty racy.

Oakshade wants more people to come see racing. The people are going to want more exciting racing. So use double file restarts for the same reason NASCAR did. It will be more exciting and word will spread which will cause more ppl to show up and more ppl means more money. I say its a WIN/WIN
